Trials of Zeus

Slot Overview

Trials of Zeus comes from Hacksaw Gaming and is laid out across 6 reels and 5 rows, with 19 paylines in play. Its RTP is declared at 96.26%, a figure that sits close to what the online slots market generally offers. Volatility is rated medium, which points to paying spins arriving at a steadier rate than a high-variance title would deliver, and to smaller swings in the balance along the way. The betting range covers €0.10 through to €50.00 per spin, a lower ceiling than many releases carry and one that rules out the heaviest staking. Wins are set at 20,000x the bet.

Slot Theme

Ruined temples sit behind the grid under a sky of dark red, orange and yellow, broken at intervals by lightning. Movement comes from a Zeus animation positioned to one side. The reels carry crystal versions of the spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts, and alongside them are flags, helmets and compasses, goblets and grapes, temple capitals and skulls, eagles, and Zeus. In addition, the audio underneath was written to match what is on screen.

Slot Bonuses & Features

Wonder Reveal: Wonder symbols fall vertically down the reels mid-spin, and what they hide is revealed afterwards: high-paying symbols across the board, Wilds across the board, or a Wonder Reel. Reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 are their only locations in normal play.

Where the reveal produces high-paying or Wild symbols that contribute to a win, a respin sequence begins. Each revealed symbol reverts to a Wonder symbol and sticks in place for the rest of the sequence.

Fresh reveals follow the completion of each respin, and anything newly won is paid out. Repetition continues until the revealed Wonder symbols stop producing wins, or until a Wonder Reel turns up.

Wonder Reels: 1 or more Wonder symbols sharing a reel is enough to form a Wonder Reel, and those symbols start spinning at that point. Every position reveals a Coin, Diamond, Clover or Pot of Olympus once they come to a stop. With the reel’s contents fully revealed, each Coin and Diamond picks up a random multiplier set by its type.

Coins and Diamonds: Cash prizes come as multiples of the bet, sorted into tiers:

• Bronze Coins at 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x
• Silver Coins at 5x, 10x, 15x or 20x
• Gold Coins at 25x, 50x or 100x
• Diamonds at 150x, 250x or 500x

Clover Symbols: Clovers come into play only after every Coin and Diamond has been revealed, and their colour sets how far their effect stretches. A Green Clover acts on Coins, Diamonds or Pots of Olympus in the adjacent squares. A Gold Clover acts on the whole grid. The multiplier pool is shared between them: x2, x3, x4, x5, x10 or x20.

Pot of Olympus: Pots wait until every Clover has applied its multiplier. Each Pot then gathers the values of all Coins, Diamonds and other Pots present on the grid and holds the combined figure. The order of activation runs top to bottom and left to right.

With all Coin, Diamond and Pot values collected, everything in the Wonder Reels except the Pot of Olympus spins again and activates again, revealing new symbols, and the cycle starts over. The final win is settled once all reveals and activations are done, by totalling the Coin, Diamond and Pot values and multiplying by the bet. Wonder Reels are cleared at the start of the following spin.

Gates of Hades Bonus Game: 3 FS Scatters landing together in base play pay 8 Free Spins. Nothing about the base game mechanics changes, apart from one addition: every Wonder symbol that arrives is sticky and stays put for the whole round. Coin values in this bonus start no lower than 1x.

Godly Ascension Bonus Game: 4 FS Scatters landing together in base play also pay 8 Free Spins, but under different terms. The base game mechanics remain, with a Wonder Meter added outside the grid that climbs by 1 step for each Wonder symbol landing. A total of 25 Wonder symbols fills it.

A filled meter produces a reward spin as soon as the current Free Spin has finished. On that spin, Wonder Reels occupy every position on the grid, revealing nothing but Coins, Diamonds, Clovers and Pots of Olympus.

The Coin range tightens as the round goes on. The first reward spin can produce any Coin type including Diamonds, with Bronze at the bottom and Diamond at the top. Each reward spin after that raises the minimum by one step, going Bronze to Silver to Gold to Diamond, with the lower-value Coins dropping out along the way. The floor on Coin values in this bonus is 1x.

Once a reward spin has finished its reveals and activations, the grid is reset, the Wonder Meter drops back to 0, and the newly raised minimum Coin type applies to the reward spin that follows. Filling and triggering carries on until the Free Spins have run out.

Zeus Unleashed Bonus Game: 5 FS Scatters landing together pay 8 Free Spins in this hidden epic bonus. Mechanically it follows Gates of Hades, except that reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 hold Wonder symbols from the outset. Low-paying symbols are absent entirely, and the Coin minimum climbs to 5x.

Bonus Buy: Four purchase options are on offer:

• BonusHunt FeatureSpins, at 3x the bet, for odds on triggering a bonus game raised by 5x on every spin.
• Divine FeatureSpins, at 50x the bet, for a guaranteed minimum of 6 Wonder symbols per spin.
• Gates of Hades, at 80x the bet, for direct feature activation.
• Godly Ascension, at 300x the bet, for direct feature activation.

Conclusion

Wonder symbols drive Trials of Zeus, revealing high-pays, Wilds or Wonder Reels that pay out in Coins and Diamonds worth up to 500x. Clovers multiply those values to x20 and Pots of Olympus collect them before the cycle repeats. 3, 4, or 5 Scatters open Gates of Hades, Godly Ascension with its 25-step Wonder Meter, or the hidden Zeus Unleashed. Four buy options run from 3x to 300x. The return is 96.26% on medium volatility, and the maximum win is 20,000x.
