Snake Arena Slot Review

Snake Arena is a battlefield, in which snakes and knights clash and the winner takes it all! The game has unique features and gameplay, which is hardly often used on slots these days. It reminds of a video version of a game made of LEGO parts characters.

Snake Arena Review

Snake Arena uses a larger grid of 5 reels, 5 rows and 25 symbols per spin. There are 30 pay-lines, which reward on consecutively landed reels left to right starting from the leftmost reel. You can play with wagers from €0.10 to €100 on all devices. The base game, free spins and buy option have an RTP of 96.25%. This is a highly volatile video slot.

The bonus features include Wild Chase, Free Spins and Buy Bonus mode. The Wild chase gives you between 1 and 5 wild reels and can trigger during the free games and in the base mode. During the free spins, the snake will chase and swallow the knight until it crashes with its own body. The jackpot win per spin is 2,758.8x bet.

The Design

The game is set on the top of a fortress and looks like a computer video game in a cartoonish style. The reels are grey stone blocks, on which land all symbols. These are all simple graphically and bright in colours. There are coins with carved images, gold crowns, daggers in meat parts. Wooden pints of beer and single green snake eyes are present as symbols. The main characters are the knight and snake, which will clash during the rounds.

The real action happens once the snake and knight land on the same spin and the free games begin. The images are in the style of old video games and the knight is like made of lego parts. The soundtrack is melodic, moving and very pleasant. A lot of gold is used in the symbols of the snake, crown and others. The main menu is at the bottom of the screen.

Snake Arena Gameplay

The pay-table includes 4 low-value, 4 premium and 2 wild symbols. The lowest paying symbols are the 4 coin or token resembling symbols. They have a graphical stamp of a skill, helmet, crown and a fortress on each. These 4 pay the same – 3, 4 and 5 of the same kind on a pay-line return 0.20, 0.70 and 2 times your stake.

The wooden pint of beer pays 0.40, 1.50 and 4 times your bet. The dagger stabbed in the meat returns 0.50, 2 and 5 times your stake for 3, 4 and 5 symbols. One of the premiums are the green snake eye with a payout of 0.70x, 3x and 10x bet for 3 to 5 of it. The gold crown is the most rewarding of all symbols and grants 1, 5 and 20 times your bet for 3, 4 and 5 symbols on a line.

All snake parts and the knight are wild symbols that substitute for all others. They play very important roles in all stages of the game.

Snake Arena Features / Bonuses

Snake Arena has two bonus features – the Wild Chase and Free Spins. You can also buy your way to the Free Spins using the Buy feature.

The Wild Chase feature triggers by chance and this can happen on any spin. When the snake and knight peek out over a random reel at the same time, the feature starts. This repeats up to 3 times. When they land on the same reel, that reel turns fully wild and the process repeats. If the snake and knight don’t match on the third try, no more wild reels will appear and the reels stop. Then, you will be paid a total of all created wins. The Wild Chase can give you between 1 and 5 fully wild reels depending on your luck.

You trigger the Free Spins by landing a snake-head on reel 1 along with a Knight symbol on any reel position on the same spin. During these rounds, a Knight symbol will appear on every free spin.

Before each free spin, the snake will advance towards the knight. This happens by the snake taking the shortest available path to him using at most one turn. It does this without any regard to the position of its snake-head. The available moves of the snake and their outcomes are:

Whenever possible, the snake will always take a path that will make it reach the knight with least moves;

If there are two paths that both reach the knight, the snake will choose a random one;

Every time the snake reaches the knight, it will consume it and extends the length of its body with more tiles;

If you fill up reels 2 to 5 with snake symbols, you will add extra free spins and win an extra prize of 1,000x your total bet;

If the snake and the knight clash on the same reel, this reel turns into a fully wild reel. In such a case, you trigger the Wild Chase feature;

If none of the available paths reaches the knight, the snake will crash into its body and the free spins will end;

You can use the Buy Free Spins option in the base game only. This will cost you 70 times your stake and will trigger the free spins immediately. The theoretical RTP of the Buy Feature is 96.25% – the same as the game’s return to player.

The Conclusion

Snake Arena is built around an original idea taken from the classic snake game. Its central attraction is the free spins with the chasing of the knight by the snake. The rounds are fun and ensure nice payouts. The randomly triggered Wild Chase features helps ensure a great time. You can play the slot as it is available now.
